Does almost count?
Our mams and CVs would say yes, we tried we tried our best. Which is probably why we got into the shortlist of the Irish Healthcare Awards ‘Patient Education Project Project of the Year – Non-Pharmaceutical’ again in 2024 in the first place. Stunning, we know! And, always the bridesmaid never the bride, the team behind Debunking the Myths are both consistent, and honoured to be considered for the award. We are also very demure, very humble, not like other contenders in our category; saying slay queens to everyone else in our category who obviously smashed it in 2024, especially the winners of our category Saint John of God Hospital – YouthMed.Info, who co-designed a medicine information resource for young people. Double stunning!
On a serious note, if we had won and been allowed a speech we would have said:
Thank you to RCSI, Research Ireland and The Rotunda Hospital for your support throughout the 3 years of our existence. Thank you to our PI Professor Fergal Malone and Department Head Dr Zara Molphy, without your encouragement, Debunking would not be where it is. Finally, thank you to every doctor, and every nurse who contributed their invaluable time and knowledge to this project over the years, we know we’ve together made an invaluable difference to thousands of adolescents sexual health education. We can’t wait for more workshops in 2025!
